Bangalore to Chicago: time difference and meeting times
Everything you need to schedule between Bangalore and Chicago — the current offset, both cities' daylight saving dates, and the hour-by-hour overlap of their working days.
Partial overlap only. There is no hour when both cities are inside core working hours. Both sides are awake and available at 01:00–02:00 UTC, 11:00–16:00 UTC, but at least one of them is in the early morning or the evening. That is the realistic window for this pair.

Daylight saving
Bangalore does not observe daylight saving — this offset is fixed all year. Chicago next moves its clocks back on 1 November 2026, to UTC−6.
This pair is not a whole number of hours apart
The offset between these two cities includes a half-hour component, so a meeting scheduled on the hour in one city always falls on the half hour in the other. Calendar software handles this correctly, but people converting in their heads routinely get it wrong by thirty minutes.
Only one side changes its clocks
Chicago observes daylight saving and Bangalore does not. The difference between these two cities is therefore not constant — it changes twice a year, entirely because of the Chicago side. A recurring meeting fixed to local time in Bangalore will appear to move by an hour in Chicago, and vice versa.
Scheduling across this corridor
This is the offshore-development corridor, and it has no comfortable answer. India is far enough ahead of North America that the Indian working day has ended before the American one begins. Teams that make it work do so by accepting a fixed compromise: a late-evening call in India against an early-morning one in the US, usually held once a day and treated as the single synchronisation point, with everything else handed off in writing. The good news is that India does not observe daylight saving, so once you find a slot it stays put — only the American side moves.
About Bangalore
Bangalore shares India Standard Time with the rest of the country, five and a half hours ahead of UTC with no daylight saving. As India's largest technology centre it is probably the single most scheduled-against city on the offshore corridors, and the local working day has adapted: late-evening calls with North America are an established norm rather than an imposition.
About Chicago
Chicago anchors US Central Time, an hour behind the East Coast and the zone covering most of the American interior. For international scheduling it behaves like a slightly softer version of New York — an hour further from Europe, an hour closer to Asia. It observes the standard US daylight saving dates.
